dream fulfilled! my new 930
Well after nagging my wife for a few years she finally gave in.
![]() This beauty is a 1983 930 euro spec (Australian). It's in original condition barring an aftermarket stereo and a monty exhaust. I've got the original Porsche stereo and twin tip exhaust too. The paint is in excellent condition barring a couple of stone chips at the front. It had the gearbox rebuild about 3,000kms ago, along with front and back rotors replaced and a host of other small bits and pieces. I just put some new Pirelli P7s on it. I've bought Wayne's books and also ordered the Porsche specifications book. There's not much literature on the 930 but after reading Wayne's books I'm thinking that doing a work on a 930 is similiar to the 911/carreras (sure it's a 4 speed and has an intercooler but..). |

Congratulations and very beautiful car.
You are a lucky man... really like the color and I don't get off on red usually but thats just gorgeous. I'm sure your wife will love the car, especially since it's basically stock and will ride comfortably. I used to have a '76 BMW 2002 in a similar color. They called it granatrot or granite red metallic. Blue is my favorite color and next to Porsche's venetian blue metallic I like the color of your car a close second best. enjoy it! |

Thanks for all your kind words of welcome. I can understand why there are references to the slippery slope - I've bought a bunch of stuff here on pelican parts and from other sites, oil filters, air filters, various bits and pieces.
I spent the day today cleaning up the garage and I'm going to 'tool up' and try my hand at some DIY (within reason). The paint is ruby red and the interior is grey beige. The drivers seat (passenger for the US!) is in pretty good condition but I wouldn't mind replacing the seat at some point. I'll put some more shots up later. |

It's slippery, but it's fun.

Welcome!
That is a beautiful machine, love the color. The slope can be less slippery if you set goals before you start the slide. Now show us some more pictures!

Nice car, this isn't by any chance the 930 that was being offered for sale in WA is it?
I just bought a mint 88 marine blue metallic RHD out of the UK. Its agony waiting for it to arrive in Oz. |

Congrats Chris and welcome - enjoy it!
That color is simply _SEXTASTIC_!!! I really love it. I'm fond of burgundy on German cars for some reason, it just suits them so well typically no matter the marque. Awesome score! And agreed, MORE PICS! |

Absolutely gorgeous.
Speaking of German cars. I had an 87 320i Burgundy once. It was really nice.

So thats what my car would look like with new paint!
Congrats, my car is the same color but there is quite a bit of paint oxidation in places. It shines up like yours but only on about 70% of the painted surface.

Well had the beast for over a month and couldn't be happier. Here's a shot I took tonight - such an iconic shape.
