The price that hasn't even met it's reserve price(I have to remember that line about what's born every minute).

A sweet example of a car...ABSOLUTELY...but at that price, if it had 40(as in FORTY original miles), not 40,000 miles.

Beautiful time capsule example with great miles and documentation the Glenn plaid definitely makes it unique. In my humble estimation this car is worth 40k+, though I am no expert and I would much rather drive a turbo 3.6, this car will fit the bill for someone in the same manner a domestic car of an even earlier vintage would bring ridiculous money.

Prices seem too high if buying and are too low when selling. Seriously, in the world market place ( especially Europe, Germany in particular ) I could have gotten in this range for a similar 1977 ( not offered on ebay ) from a european collecter when he was over looking ( I decided to keep it) after he has offered to buy 6 of my cars ( one was a 77 he had seen that I had put on eBay ) when he was recently here. That's a collector quality vehicle, if it were mine I wouldn't sell it for any less.
Cars like that are not intended to sell on eBay but rather posted for advertisement purpose. Someone off-line will pay that price.

Exactly, I had a similar condition 1977 930 I offered on ebay. It did not reach my optomistic reserve, which was over $65K, however after the sale I have recieved offers from four interested parties of which was one offer from USA, two from Germany and one from Spain ( two were activly bidding on eBay) for around 20% more than the final ( reserve not met) bid.

Charles, Don't take it too hard, you have a very nice 79. The ice green car looked like they cleaned in the trunk area so well that the air compresser and the tire gloves and bag are missing. Also the air conditioning compresser has been changed. Also not the best radio and not sure I would order that interior. So a very nice car/ yes, the perfect collecter piece as it is, maybe for some. I think I would take your 79 if offered a choice between the two.

Alright, I don't want to get off topic . . . but I've never driven a 76-77 Turbo. Can someone give us a few highlights of their firsthand experience driving this generation Turbo vs. a 78-79 (78 is mine).

BTW, I like this car too . . . but only for the color combo and the uber-cool 'Turbo' stickers. Hope it sells well . . . to the benefit of all other low-mileage early Turbo owners.

from a driving standpoint my 79 is better car. I drove one 76 and two 77s when i was shopping...one was a dog, one was nice and one was very stong. they all felt lighter than my 79. i like the 76-77 for; 1.) the uniquiness of the 3.0/non intercooled/different tail 2.) the low build numbers, and 3.) what they represented/why they were made when they were introduced.

I agree the 1976-77 turbo cars feel much lighter and more agile. Also I like the rear quarter windows that open, another reason to get rid of the air conditioning equipment. In an Ideal world it may be a good idea to have one of each.

Early 930's feel lighter because they have narrower wheels and tires.

The chassis, suspension and everything else is basically the same as long as AC and sunroof are in both chassis, you just don't get an aluminum intercooler that doesn't weigh enough to feel a difference.

930 dual piston calipers used after '78 are incredibly light so thats nothing you'll ever feel either - other than they stop the car alot better and that makes it feel lighter.

Huh? the 77 930 has the same tires and wheels untill the 9 inch rears, 10 years later. the 76-77 were lighter according to the advertising.

Sounds reasonable for a 40K mile car in very nice condition with a desireable color and a rare interior. So prices have not changed much in the recent past. Not bad considering the housing and stock market price condition lately.
