Which spark plug wires in bulk?

I need to make some plug wires for my twin plug project. What do you guys recommend?

I will need to do this as well.

I actually have what looks like a factory made Beru crimper I am repairing. It is not the pliers but an actual fixture that is clamped in a vise with specially made dies for the crimp. I've ordered the m3 connectors to test it out and they should be here this week.

I plan on using edis connectors on one end and the m3 style crimps on the other so I can utilize the factory beru spark plug ends.

I will most likely use the beru 7mm wire.

By the way, which mega-squirt have you decided on?

I'm thinking about keeping it batch fired to keep it simple. I'm not so sure that the extra effort and complexity of running full sequential is really worth it.

Also, have you thought about knock control and retard? I emailed J&S about implementing his box with edis and he same up with a clever solution that seems like it will work with only one controller on twin plug edis.

JB Racing sells their kit with factory ends you cut to fit. Probably the best quality I have found. Call and ask for Mike Bruns.

If you go with ms-3 you can use coil on plugs and ditch the spark plug wires and the when you ad the cost of coils plus plug wires your find it about the same. Without the aggravation of all the problems caused by spark plug wires.

The cop's are a nice solution as well.

Are you planning on any knock monitoring/control system with MS3? I am guessing that for twin plug full sequential (if that how the ms3 cop system is set up) you would need 12 individual channels in order to be able to do individual cylinder knock control.

With wasted spark, my understanding is that you only need three channels (in parallel) to for individual knock monitoring/control.

I'm still learning a-lot about mega-squirt and implementing ignition and knock monitoring/control so any insight is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hijack this thread so badly........

you might want to ask turbo nut he has cop's with an m-s 3 and the knock control. I think you only need one channel and supply it as an input to the ms-3 which will then dial back timing on all cylinders.

I ended up using a MS2 v3.0. and there is a knock sensor that will retard the ignition. I don't remember who I bought the sensor from, but JPNovak here on the forum may remember.

I bought the MS2 used that had some jumpers in the wrong position, but otherwise works fine.

In response to Ken911 and some recent work on my V8 Toyota, I kind of wish I set up to go to c-o-p. It seems much easier and cleaner.

Nocarrier,
If you haven't already bought a MS, I would go with the latest version and strongly consider going c-o-p.

Just recieved all 12 of them in the mail last night. Still need a couple more sensors a knock control system and a GT-2 oil pump.

Cool!

So does the MS3 have 12 ignition outputs for twin plug applications?

Do the coils that you are using have built in ignitors?

I am really curious about implementing knock control so please keep us posted on what you go with.

Thanks for the info Sundevil64......

I am seriously now reconsidering using cops.

Here is a picture of the crimper that I am repairing as well as the "M3" terminal end and a test crimp I made on a scrap piece of beru 7mm wire.

I still need to make a fixture to strip the wire to the exact length before crimping. I believe it is 6.2mm.

If you decide to go this route. I wont mind crimping these ends for you as the beru crimper is over $300!!!
