Yes I really want a nice looking "period correct" tread pattern.. The Nexxen, Fuzion, have these horrible jagged tread patterns... Would love to find a set of Dunlop 9000s. I know they make Contisports in stock sizes but only available in Europe, just a matter of getting them shipped...

I'm pretty sure Toyo RA1's are readily available in 245/45/ZR16 and they are great tires for street and for DE. They should last a season or two depending upon how much you drive. I've been using them since 2004 or 2005 with no issues.

chris_b: beautiful car! One of the few, maybe only, shapes that goes great with white paint and white wheels! I really like that combo.
shlobeck: a nice looking tread would be a plus - but we can't even find any tires let alone ones with nice tread patterns! That is said jokingly ![]() s5uewf: Really not looking for R-comps, for two reasons - not good when caught in the wet, and the stickiness picks up every rock, pebble and piece of glass on the road. (lots of rocks and gravel around here). But thanks for the tip! To all: be safe, have a good evening! Cheers |

Is there interest in contacting a US company like BFG or Goodyear to see if they would do a custom-run of very-high-performance summer (not R-comp) tires in 245/45/16 and 205/55/16? I don't know if that's even possible, would surely need at least a hundred pre-orders.

Hey Iamchappy---Thank you for the EasyTire post as I thought there was no hope to find a couple of rear Continental Sportcontacts to fit the 930--on the phone for a couple of days looking to no avail. Now have 2 on the way.

Just noticed that the toyo r888 are working for our cars... I know they are R tires but they are apparently a great dual use tire (probably my next ones).
Sorry, it seems like the specs in tirerack don't list the 245/45 16 anymore...

IMO Nexens are just plain trash, I wouldn't even recommend them to my ex-wife.

Let me stress that for the MONEY, So far, I absolutely love mine (N3000 245/45/16, 205/55/16) compared with the Summi's, Yoko's, or Kumo's that I have had for the last combined 85K miles I driven the 930. Car tracking and predictability is much improved. Rear end does not move around near as much as with the previous three brands, much more stable. This is only for spirited street, not track.

I bought a set of Nexen N3000 in 205/55r16 and 245/45r16 from tires-easy. Looks like they have some in stock as of today. I just got my '87 930 and the tires that came on it were dry rotted, so I had to do something. The Nexens will hold me over until I send a set of 16's to Trudesign to get made into some wide 17's.

Hi,
When I used to live in Australia, had trouble to find any matching 16" tires. I went for Hankook (not bad tire at all, I run some endurance class back in Finland and these are same tires) and that time only option was to order from US. So I did, got this set form Tire Rack: Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 2 x Fronts 225/50ZR16 2 x Rears 245/45ZR16 That time fronts were USD98.00 each and rears USD113.00 each, I felt very good value and now after having them for some time, they are good ones, recommended set and fits well in original Fuchs wheels & 930 chassis. Regards, Harri

Hey Uwon,
I just looked at my post and I mis-spoke on the size the fronts are 205/55/16's the rear size I posted was correct at 245/45/16. The model is N3000. I haven't looked at the Nexen website but I found them at tires-easy.com. (I have no affiliation with them) but they did ship me two sets of tires within a week of placing an order with them... ![]() I have run the tires a little bit more now than when I first posted about them and I have been happy with them so far. Much much more grip than the 15 odd year old Bridgestones that came off of the car. Good luck in your search! Cheers, Chris |

Potenza RE-11's are now in stock at Tire Rack in 245/45-16.
I ordered mine on May 31, and they were shipped on June 1, 2012. John Trevey Austin TX |

Got mine yesterday. Hope to get them mounted up next week!
Damon at tire rack was able to source them from a different warehouse than the one I selected when I ordered online. This is a clear case of a real phone call being better than a couple of clicks. |
