$107k...why because low mileage...IMO rarity would increase the value of a car. Extremely low mileage adds value but come on $107k worth of value..nah I don't think so.

Great for a museum piece. Be a shame to spend that much money on a car and then not be able to drive it. But there's an a** for every seat...
Agree that even $75K would be high, particularly in this market. But all he needs is one oil sheik to bite at $100K and we all look like fools.

How much do you think same car with 48k miles would be worth?

$40-45K?
48K miles is still reasonably low. Not museum-quality low, but at least garage-queen low. It's a cab. It's an '89.

a friend of mine, just sold the same car 1986 with 35K excellent condition for 38K. The new owner placed it on ebay and sold it for 50K, and we though that was so high.
Out of country people are buying them, so just hold on and it will keep going higher. I am thinking of getting a 1970-1972 and storing it, just because of some of these crazy prices i see here and there.

First and last series 930 cars are definatly getting into the 911S price range lately. As it is written, the 930 turbo cars were developed to replace the non turbo cars as they felt they had lived out the ability to be further upgraded to be competitive in racing. Already 934-935 cars seem to be getting more interest/prices than RS/RSR so it seem to follow the 930 should do better for some buyers/collectors also. I know from first hand experience that a great 930 will get close to 6 figures and know of at least one extremely low miles one that well over 100K has been offered ( and refused by the original owner). So hang on to your 930, if nothing else for the pleasure of owning it, as you may not get another chance to own one at such a good price.

I agree. The 930 is the real sleeper in the classic car market.
Hold on to yours as the market is going to wake up one day and realise the 930 is THE KING OF PORSCHE'S. |

The difficulty with buying such a car as listed at such a price is that the real value being asked is because of what the odometer reads. The more miles you put on it, the faster it falls into the realm of normality and other 930 prices. So it probably really does need a collector to want to part with the money and shove it in a garage under a cover. Until it hits the market again.
I'd rather be driving mine, now, than wait for some after life. Alan

Yes, that is the way to go, drive it, show it, compete with it. do it all. And maybe someday you'll be to old to to nothing else but keep it clean and look at it. That will be good, too.

Would be quite a collector's item to have one of those '70-'72 930s.

Love the video! I appreciate a car that's been driven and enjoyed rather than a car thats sat in a box. If I was offered either an any-year 930 with either 100 miles or 500,000 miles for the same price, I'd go with the latter. It's been around the block, likely been on the track (I hope) as it should be. I'd rather have the stone chips and patina. But, it may be tempting to instead get the 100 miles car, make it safe and roadworthy, and drive the piss out of it! ![]() That said, I'm not one in any way to go out and drive one in the salt or generally treat it like crap either. Although I sure would if its an emergency and its the only car. But it could be worse I guess. There are 930's and other vintage Porsches out there with under 50 miles. ![]() To the OP - anybody notice the picture of the Porsche crest against silver paint? And since its a convertible - I'd haul a bunch of big stuff in it too! Lumber, pipe, chairs, everything that'll fit!To all; have a safe and great Passover and/or Easter! Take care Cheers |

Yes, I'g rather arrive at the pearly gates in a shower of gravel and zork flames, than be carted there in a wheelchair. If I can't make the rendevous on schedule, then at least I have the memory of the journey. I can still get as much fun looking at mine in the shed everyday as the one with a handful of miles on the odometer. And I know most every nut and bolt on mine, so the relationship is a bit more personal than with a garage queen that you are scared some bird might crap on if you park it outside.
Mine was definitely a 'bucket list' inspiration, and so far it is working out just fine. Alan
