Burn out oil
Any one know how long it takes to burn out the oil in muffler after a turbo seal blowing ?

I know from experience that it takes almost no time at all (even if alot of oil went past the turbine impeller) . . .just a few minutes/miles.

Totally depends on the muffler.
If it's a baffle type muffler it might not take long but if it's a straight through glass pack or stainless steel wool packed muffler it will be soaked with oil like a sponge and will take a long time to burn it all out. Probably best to do it at night so the embarresing clouds of smoke are harder to see. It really sucks at traffic lights. |

Yes! Very embarrassing to say the least. I have a fabspeed muffler with steel wool and ceramic packing.Have about one and a half hours of run time and its getting better but still smoking.Think I am going to give it a nice long run on the highway.The smell is awe full. Thanks again all for chiming in.
