Just had a new windshield installed on my 89. It was installed at a Porsche dealership for $2200.00.
One year later the rubber trim that goes around it seems to be shrinking (old stock?? And it has left both top corners open so water can get in it. This wrecked my previous windshield. Question: Are these hard to remove or replace ? Is there a way to stop it from doing this ?? Or should i get a aftermarket one that was hopefully manufactured within the last few years ? What have you used (brand) for a replacement ? Thank-you for any help. |

When I replaced these parts on my 1989 Carerra the first rubber trim and windshield purchased would did not fit as well as it should. After some research the installer found out the proper part was a 964 rubber trim and windshield. The size was close but there is a difference. Maybe some others will have more specific info. I believe the reason was Porsche built some of the last 89's with the new 964 windshields.
