Stupid mistake

I inadvertently lost my dipstick down the tank today. I already searched for a solution, no luck fishing it out.
Trouble is I'm not sure what's supposed to be there and not when I look down the pipe. Does anyone have an internal view of the oil tank?
Thanks!!!

Can you try to get it with a pen magnet?

There is a pic of a cut-open SC tank in this thread and some descriptions of how the 930 tank differs:

Can't get it with a magnet (it's aluminum) the good news is they are cheap and it's not doing any harm sitting in there.
There was a thread on the 911 side a while back about a guy who drained and removed his when he dropped it in only to find the PO had left one in there!!

Harbor freight, auto zone and others sell this device that is over 2 feet long. One end is a
four pronged claw controlled by a knob at the other end. This should get it.

For next time, you might steal an idea from another Pelican that I've also used with much success...Try re-twisting the new dipstick handle out into a concentric circle so that it can't pass by the disptick holder, that way you'll never lose another one down there.

I dont know who posted that but it wasnt my idea.

Welcome to the club... don't sweat it, leave it there and get another one - no harm.
