Help! Trade for Valve Adjustment...

Looking for 2nd set of eyes and electrical expertise to help me find EFI/No-Spark issue with my hot-rod Porsche. Dies intermittently at idle after a few min - then can be started again. Sent Motec (M48) logs to Motec experts and it appears Spark signal is getting cut to the coils. A good electrical person w/scope would be ideal to help me track this down.

I will gladly trade some help here with tools/time to do valve adjustment or mechanically related repairs (Mech Engineer). I live in W.Norwalk, CT. Any takers?

Frank

Have you checked your crank sensor?

No crank sensor....everything is in the dizzy. It's not a misfire (no codes) - it's like somebody turned the car off. I can restart immediately and it will run fine for 3 min or so.

Do you have a yellow relay in the rear fuse box? If yes, then try sanding the pins with 300-600 grit sandpaper to make sure it has good connectivity. If that don't work then remove the yellow cover (carefully) and check for any solder cracks and make sure contacts are clean.

I had rare sparodic shut downs for the first 2 years since I bought my car. It cleared up after lightly sanding down the terminals of the yellow relay. My car has Protomotive EFI with twin distributors. Not sure if your problem is related using Motec.

It might be worth calling Geoffrey. He is always very helpful and indeed a Motec expert.
