Garret GT flange vs KKK flange?
Can anyone tell me whether the typical KKK 4 bolt discharge flange is exactly the same flange used on the Garrett GT turbo's?
i.e. will an off-the-shelf 930 exhaust bolt up to a Garrett GT turbo? They look very similar! We're just trying to negate the need to cut and weld a new flange or V-band that's all

Factory Porsche turbos have T3 flange pattern. Most GT turbos are available with an array of different size housings. T3 being the most popular used housing for street cars. The trick setup is the Tial v-band light weight housings, but pricey.....

Hi GJF, I was actually referring to the discharge flange. Not the inlet flange

Sorry 911TT33... I tend to jump the gun every now and then...Discharge is a KKK only bolt pattern... Nothing Garrett has, bolts up. You will definetly need to cut and weld.

Wait. My gt30r bolts to both the t3 as well as the discharge that fits the kkk. Only issue I did have is the oil catch tank and inlet and outlet oil line sizes.

![]() So your GT30R bolts directly to a 930 style exhaust system with the typical KKK 4-bolt inlet flange? This is the exhaust discharge side of the turbo, right? Also, what type of headers are you using? Got any pics of the flange I'm referring to? |

Is it a 4 bolt round flange? If it is take a cross measurement center to center. garrett should be able to give you this measurement.

Measure the bolt circle. Here is a GT35R spec. Would be great for you if it's a bolt on!

I'm using box right now and I was using the stock exhaust manifolds with this turbo. Muffler is also a bolt on unit made for our cars. No fit meant issues.

Funny thing is I have never used a single KKK turbo. They always got the axe! Before the Garrett GT series all that was readily available was T3 in Cosworth or Volvo flange. I did have some Saab T3 housings that had a small 4 bolt flange. And of course T4 with 4 bolt flanges. It is nice that there are more options. I can tell you my next turbos will be V-Band in and out. If it is a direct bolt up that's good to know.

Man this phone tries to fix every post with its own spelling. Sorry I need to check before I post.
Ok, I have OBX headers right now but had stock HExchangers on before with my gt30r. I never used a kkk turbo on this engine like GJF. But my system is designed for stick components and are bolt on. My muffler I'm using now is also a cheap OBX unit and designed for stock bolt up. Fits the turbo. Must be same pattern and sizing as stock. I have a magnaflow I'm building up as soon as I can get a v-band hot side for the turbo but for now, the OBX is on and fits ok. No fitment issues. I bought my turbo from Turbokraft and knew it would fit. Like GJF said, there are many configurations available for the Garrett's. So make sure first, it's not going to be a sure thing unless you check first. But it is available in bolt on configuration, at least from Chris at Turbokraft. Good luck. Love my turbo btw |

Hey Quattrorunner, which OBX 930 muffler exhaust are you using? Do you have a pic or link?

Picked it up on evilbay for 259.00 as a bandaid as I didn't have another option till I got the car to run. My idea was to then after it was sorted out, begin tuning and upgrading. I have tried a couple mufflers and have come back to the OBX for sound quality and general ass kicking presance. But I have had to repair it once and it's inside flow doesn't look great. As I said before, I am waiting to build my permenant muffler for when I can get a hotside with v-band clamp and smaller A/R of .63.

Looks nice for a temporary solution, and the fact that it bolts right up to your GT30R is a bonus too!

It's hard to pass on something that cheep. And it works well enough to fill in for sure. I'll probably still be able to sell it for a hundo.

How does it sound?
Not too loud? Does your GT30R spool up fairly fast? |
