'89 Slant Nose

As some of you know, I've been looking for a nice SN Coupe and finally found one. Even better, it's a '89 in the color I was hoping for. If all goes as expected, and it passes a PPI on Sunday, it will soon be in my garage.

15,000 original miles. My perfect 930 would've been totally stock, but who could resist THESE mods????

Here's a description from an old ad, the last time it changed hands. Should be INSANE fast...

1989 Porsche 930 S Slantnose Turbo black

The original title of this automobile shows it to be a one-owner vehicle. The mileage represented is the actual mileage of this vehicle. THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A FACTORY 930 SLANT NOSE TURBO WITH OVER $154,000 INVESTED IN IT.

PHASE I ZYTEK ENG. MGNT. SYS., FUEL INJECTOR UPGRADES, ADDITION OF SENSORS AND BRACKETS, INTAKE MANIFOLD UPGRADE, INTERCOOLER UPGRADE, IHI RACING TURBOCHARGER, STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST HEADERS, CAMSHAFT UPGRADES, TWIN IGNITION CONVERSION, ADJUSTABLE BOOST WITH GAUGE, CYLINDER HEAD SEAL RINGS, BALANCED AND BLUEPRINTED LOWER END PORTED AND POLISHED CYLINDER HEADS W/CUSTOM VALVE JOB, DYNO TESTING 618 HP @ 6250 RPM 587 FT/LB TORQUE 5000 RPM. PHASE II DUAL STAILESS STEEL MUFFLERS, ADDITIONAL A/C CONDENSER and FAN, UPGRADE IGNITION WIRES, CUSTOM INTERCOOLER. PHASE III CUSTOM DISIGNED 6 BUTTERFLY INTAKE, TWIN INJECTORS, INTERCOOLER, CUSTOM CLUTCH, FLYWHEEL, RING REAR, WHEELS OZ FUTURA TYPE 24 MODULAR. BRAKE and SUSPENSION COMPONANTS S-4 CALIPERS and 13 FRONT BRAKE ROTORS DS-11, PAGID R-4 BRAKE PADS, REAR COIL OVER SUSPENSION, BILSTEIN RACE SHOCKS, RADIUS ARM KIT CORNER BALANCE AND ALIGNED.

I don't have a lot of pics, but here are 2 more. Note how DUSTY the interior is. Been sitting for a while. Can't WAIT to get my hands on this beast....

Just Gorgeous! Let us know the price range when possible. Is that going to pass Ca. Smog?

69Sman..

Nice find dude.. I want to say I've seen that car before on the market but not 100% sure. Wheels said OZ in the ad but they look like Alesio by Speedline. Good luck with the PPI

And you have a PM

Paul

Yes, sounds good. D. VADAR, or something like that.....great idea.

Paul - the car was listed and did not meet reserve on ebay a few years back, and was also advertised a few other places so perhaps you did see it. I was lucky to be the first to call the current owner, courtesy of a fellow Pelicanite who let me know that the car was available. Thanks again Scott!!

Thanks Steve. I'll take some pics as soon as I have the car in my driveway - It was WAY TOO HOT in California yesterday to drive it home so I am having it transported. The car has been sitting since '05, so it goes straight to TLG (my mechanic) for some TLC before I start ripping the streets of LA.

There have been a lot of questions as to what I paid. I really don't want the thread to degenerate into a (always opinionated) VALUE thread. I think it was commensurate with market value for a low mileage '89 with Factory SN option and some VERY expensive mods that would be impossible to duplicate for anywhere NEAR the price. The seller thought he left money on the table, and I thought I paid a little too much - so it was probably perfect....

Many thansk to Scott (pauvalon) for pointing me to the car which was never advertised.

Update

Hi Steve, YES!! I got it back from TLG a few days ago. Funny thing, literally EVERYTHING worked. Very nice. I needed new tires (18" Speedlines, 335/30's in back = LOTS of $$$$$), fluid change(s), just minor stuff and the thing ROCKS. I've never owned a Turbo before and I LOVE this car. It's SICK fast. WAY faster then my (now gone) GT3. I can putt around town and it's a little kitten....until 4000rpm. When it's on boost, it's amazing. Adjustable to 1.6 bars. I also spoke to the guys who did the mods (MODE) in Arizona, and altho the work was done in '90-'91 they remember the car. Anyway, the bottom line is: I'm hooked....

OH yea, I'll try and take some pics this afternoon and post 'em....

Beautiful car!

1.6 bar?! Have fun, but watch that dial-a-death boost knob!

Like everyone said, nice car!

Just don't get too greedy turning up the boost. May I suggest to put your car on a dyno with a wideband so you'll know what its safe boost limit is? Until then I'd stay below 1 bar or even .9 bar.

Thanks guys for all the comments! I have been very careful on the boost, BELIEVE me. .9 is PLENTY....
