Does anyone know the seller of this:
I know there are better turbo's but this might be a good first step. Thanks

I don't know him Fred, but anyone with a user name "camarochix" starts with a pretty large credibility deficit my eyes...

An astounding price provided all has been done to it as advertised. I would insist on documentation, though.

It looks rebuilt and media blasted. If it is as described - assembled with origonal parts and high speed VSR balanced thats a very good price. A rebuild like that is usually around $600.
FWIW, this turbo is in Illinois and so is http://www.durabilt-turbo.com/ Durabilt has one of 3 UK made high speed VSR balancing machines that are in the USA so good chance it was rebuilt by Durabilt, and they are the best turbo rebuilder in the USA. If it hasn't sold yet I'd ask the seller who rebuilt it because thats very important. The NLA K27 7006 was more expensive than the higher backpressure smaller hot side k27 7200 when it was new. The 7200 spools up around 3-400 rpm earlier than the 7006 because of it's smaller turbine wheel and hot side housing but the 7006 makes more horsepower at high rpms between 5-7000 rpm because of it's larger turbine wheel and housing that gives it lower backpressure. The 7006 also has a similar looking from the outside but different compressor wheel than the 7200. The 7200 would be more useful at city speeds around town and the 7006 is more fun on open roads where you can go faster. The 7006 is more durable than a 7200. I've been told there are some internal differences on the hot side next to the bearing housing that make it tolerate high temperatures better than a 7200. I have the exact same turbo on my car and it just keeps on going strong for what it is. A very reliable older design turbo. |

I hope you cleared it with the OP, otherwise that's in pretty poor form.

Ok, FredT mentioned this auction to ask our opinions. So if you came here and found out about the auction because he asked about it, then bought the item without asking if he was a serious buyer first, that would be a not very polite thing to do.
Like if a friend of yours mentioned he liked a girl but was not sure yet if he should date her, but you go and immediately invite her on a date without asking him if it was cool. That would be make you a douchebag. Same thing here. |

You probably should have pm'd the OP, to determine his interest then bid, that's all. Now you know, don't sweat it....

Thus the acronym "evil bay".
Chill people....me thinks you're being just a wee bit harsh. Sometimes people post links to good deals, just to inform the rest of us that the opportunity exists. It doesn't necessarily mean that the OP had a desire to buy it (if so, then why advertise the opportunity in the first place...hoard it in true eBay fashion and don't invite others to raise the price through bidding). But out of courtesy, before swooping in to gobble it up, the nice thing to do would be to ask the original poster if he had an interest. Hey, if I didn't already have a 7006 I would have been tempted to jump on this myself. But I don't need a 4th turbo just gathering dust. Either way, eBay is about bidding and may the highest bidder win.

Seriously? If you post about it here you get first dibs? Just like with girls, right? If you saw her first?
I would consider that an unreasonable expectation. |

with 20 min till auction close, i agree, no problem there. Its not like you did a "buy it now" 6 days before the end.
