AEM Wideband Location?
![]() I recently purchased an AEM wideband. I have a 930, with a PowerHaus dual tip exhaust. AEM instructions recommend that the wideband sensor be located 36" from the turbo. Is it okay to mount the sensor after the muffler? Thanks in advance John

You don't want the sensor too close to the outlet. At idle, you can get inversion which will give high AFR numbers.

The location I was thinking of is about 16-18" from outlet. Any Alternatives?
Anyone running an AEM wideband? If so where do you have yours mounted? Thanks in Advance. John

can you get it between the turbo and muffler?
when i moved mine from 12" from tip to between turbo/muffler, my readings stabilized a bunch...

Yes, I have about 6" between turbo and muffler. I will try it there.
Thanks John

I just purchased a Uego AFR Analog and I was also wondering where to instal the wideband sensor, between the turbo and the muffler isn't it to close from the turbo, any over heat risk for the sensor ?

A picture is always better than words, is this location appropriate ? My only fear is to be too close from the turbo turbine with high temperatures.
Anyway difficult to put it elsewhere as well since it will be too far this time ;-) Thanks for confirming to the french guy !

The place you show is common, but you have to angle the sensor a bit to the outside as recommended by Bosch (15°) etc.. Just like this:
![]() Of course the better way is to mount the sensor more away from turbo, but it's not possible on a 930. Some fit the sensor after the muffler, but as you have a twin outlet, not in your case. BTW: Be sure to route the cable away from turbine housing due the temps there
