My New To Me Slantnose

After owning quite a few 911's and a 930 I have always wanted a Slant nose. I know that some do not quite care for the look of these cars, but as a Porsche lover from the 80's I just love the look of the Slant nose. So after kicking the idea around in my head for the last couple of years I finally decided now is the time. The car is a 1988 930 with a non original slant nose kit. It seems to be fairly well done the paint looks very good and the interior needs a few little things. It is not a concourse car but I like to drive my cars and I did not want to spend 65K so this suits my needs just fine.
The best part about the car is that it was converted to a 5 Speed what a huge difference between my 87 with the 4 speed and this one it seems to have no trouble building boost in any gear as my 87 needed to be in 1st or 2nd in order to build boost rapidly. The car has 82000 miles on it and besides what is mentioned the motor is basically stock.
One thing I need advise on is the ignition switch after I start the car and try to shut it off the car continues to run even after taking the key out. I am thinking that I need a new ignition switch. Can anyone offer any advice? Has anyone else had this problem before? Well here are the pics. Enjoy I hope you like it
One more thing in the last picture you can see the parking brake lever has anyone ever seen a lock like that? Does anyone know how to remove it?

If it runs for about 3-4 seconds after shutting down its normal. Its part of a design to burn off any remaining fuel in the injectors. When I bought mine it was deactivated and my wrench advised me to turn it back on. Do a search, there are plenty of threads out there. There are many differing points of view on the subject so get ready to read up.

Nice car, can't go wrong with a black slant! Lets see some more pics.

Thanks guys. The car runs much longer than a couple of seconds. It does not seem to shut down at all. From my search I see that it is located in the left side of the engine bay is that correct? If it went bad would the car still start and just continue to run?

Headlight issue

Mike,

Nice car, where you the one with the headlight issue? Did you get it resolved. Its funny i was working on the mazda rx7 i have this past weekend, specifically a headlight issue.

I love the feel of the slantnose when you drive it feels like the road is just over the winshield as you dont see the bug eyes. I had an 86 turbo back in the 90's i am looking for another turbo now. I have an IMSA replica RX7 and an BMW M coupe to hold me over.

I included a pic of the front of my rx7 you can see the lights are very similar to the aftermarket slantnose
