well - overboost switch
I unintentionally tested my overboost switch a couple of days ago. I changed the voltage regulator, taking off the Garretson intercooler like I have done countless times over the years, and like some kind of mega moron, neglected to connect the wastegate hose before taking the 930 for a test drive - it quickly overboosted in 2nd gear and I got the "face in the wind shield" experience. Nothing seems to be damaged - runs perfectly, pulls hard, no smoke, etc. (drove it hard for about two hours today) - but who knows. I guess if I am paranoid enough about broken rings I could do a leak down test (but would rather not). I used Racewear studs and rod bolts when I rebuilt the engine several years ago . . . What do you guys think?
The good news is that the thing now charges like it is supposed to - ha!
You can bet I won't forget that hose again!
