I think there might have been a thread on this car over at Rennlist.

Bidding on it, I can build an awesome track car out of that for the price of a cheap 951.

Bidding on it huh...even a track car is going to rust out. There is simply no way to rinse the salt residue out of all the cracks-n-crevices.
But heh, with the smell that it undoubtedly has, you could get a fast food seafood chain as your sponser and call the car "THE CRAB SHACK":} Mark |

Dude I live in Detroit suburbs, we have salt we also have the shops to restore the car and it is not a big deal to gut that car.

Schnele, good luck with the buy.
If you buy it to make track car, i assume you will sell off some parts? if so, can i be first in line for the snorkel headlight washers?

Hard to say how deep the water got with that thing but just the rear suspension and the Fuchs alone are worth at least 3500. A little salt water won't hurt those parts at all.
The car looks straight like it has never been hit and that tail is very collectable. Real easy rinse off and clean up that car if you have the time. Ditch the carpets and seats and any smell is gone. It's not like the car was submerged in cat piss for 3 weeks. Last edited by JFairman; 02-02-2013 at 07:19 AM.. |

It is a nice car, the auction is not being conducted in an honest manner and I dropped out. To extend the date is purely a ploy to try to run the price up.

Is it possible to have the badges reversed (in this case, "Carrera Turbo") on a U.S. '76/77 930? I would think the Carrera and Turbo pin spacing would be different. If so, this engine lid may have had new holes drilled or perhaps the badges are only glued to the lid? Just curious as I have never seen a '76/77 with the badges reversed.
