How much torque is the 3.6 making @ 3000 RPM? (I don't know, I'm asking!)

Isn't that the difference? N/A motors making power higher?

My torque curve from 3000 is pretty flat. I got the impression that 915 can deal with high-torque better if it's spinning fast enough.

Heck, folks run V8's with 915's - or even 901's - in teeners. Weight is clearly a factor too :)

And you should be sure the 915 is healthy to start with. A tired 915 does not suffer much added power for long.
Heh. Many folks in the N/A world seem to think a 915 just soldiers on forever, if it still shifts OK and doesn't make noise. I don't think that's quite right...

Some help with this, even if it may not apply but somewhere, someone mentioned the added two cylinders of the v8 make the power delivery more smooth and tolerable. I think it was discussed when somebody wanted big turbo power from a Subaru engine with 915. Obviously the v8 makes big torque and why does it handle that while 930 engines with similar torque shred stuff.

Spuggy,
A 3.6 will make 225-230ft/lb at 3000rpm. By 4000rpm they are up to 260 or so, peaking around 275 about 1000rpm higher.

I have a 3.0 930 engine and I don't have issues yet, but I would raise the boost if I had a 930 box. That said, I have become pleasantly comfortable knowing that my 915 with 8.31 ring and pinion is a great fit ratio wise for really good performance. But there is a limit and I'm up against that limit torque wise. If you keep boost at stock with around 265 hp that would still have higher torque than the cars this transission was designed for. But I'm over 325lb ft torque and have a year under my belt with no grenades as of yet.
If you have a 930, I would just rebuild it.

Update****
Boom!
915 is done and done.
I'm getting g50 now.

If it's otherwise a not so much modified 3.0 turbo, I can only advise to bring it back to stock - these are going up in value fast!

I'd keep the 930 box for sure
