How to make a 911 turbo sound aggressive ?

I am in the search of a more aggressive sound, but not an obnoxious one. Straight pipe is too loud for my taste. Has anyone tried a straight pipe with a resonator? I would like to hear it. Any recommendation of a good exhaust combination and a sound clip would be great.

Thanks

Try Rarely8! He has ore than one sound option in a modular design. And add the wastgate dump pipe. Remove the intake airbox and replace with k&n. It's not hard to make a 930 sound badass.

Porsche 1979 930 Zork tube-idle trial - YouTube

Here is my zork after i built and installed it.

Seriously, it is a little loud for the neighborhood, but if you can coast it home for the last 100 yards maybe no one will be too upset.

It makes a great racket at a track day!

Aggro Turbo

Hi all - queations is:

Just loud or really aggressive ?

To make it aggressive you have to go for a more radical cam - Just like GT2 evo or upwards.

With best regards from Krautland

Sound is sooooo subjective. That is why we have options.
Street muffler has a sport sound that is louder than stock but acceptable to everyone who wants a sportier sound.
Hooligan is big block muscle car sound with the turbo whistle and decel burbles all present for the full turbo experience. Still calm enough for neighborhoods but maybe not always the wife.
Outlaw is a long tailpipe zork. The tailpipes take enough edge off that you can get by on the street but just barely.
If you want to actually change the tone try my tuned headers. The tone goes from motorboat to Ferrari, and the higher the rpm the more glorious the tuned whail. It is addictive! YouTube doesn't do any of them justice but you get the idea.

He wanted agressive, not obnoxious.

I submit that in this venue Zork would never be considered obnoxious. :D

I have bitten my tongue for a few days on this thread.... I know each of us have our own tastes, however, that being said, to the OP... you own and drive a 930!!

It is a sportscar, NOT a Caddy...LOL:D

I have ran a zork style exhaust ever since I first bought my car, and I LOVE it! Not only do you lose the weight off the rear end of the car, but the decresed backpressure helps in the performance realm as well.

Just do it!!!! and dont lok back.. you will love it!!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gif

I have a rarlyl8 single output muffler it is pretty loud and aggressive. It seems abut right for me. I think a zork would be too much for my delicate sensibilities

ale 911 04-26-2013 12:14 PM

Definitely the Hooligan sounds great! I think that's the way to go. I'm pretty sure that the zork tube too loud lol. In addition here in Puerto Rico the police take seriously when it comes to a loud exhaust on a car.

Unobtainium 04-26-2013 05:33 PM

Try a full throttle acceleration. It works for me every time!

911nut 04-27-2013 05:00 AM

Be careful with muffler choice.
I bought one of Brian's early mufflers so I'm not sure what class it is but after I re-foamed my rear speakers, the vibration from the muffler from idle to 3500 rpm excites the r/h speaker to vibrate at a high frequency from idle to 2000 rpm. That vibration is akin to fingernails on a chalkboard and can be extremely irritating. When I get my car back on the road I'm going to have to add some extra sound deadener to the package shelf so I don't lose my mind :D

s5uewf 04-27-2013 05:15 AM

I have one of Brian's standard flow through mufflers and it the right balance for me and my neighbors (I think). Inside the car with the windows up the noise is not really noticeable, though I can hear it when I step on the gas. I can hear the turbo whine in parking garages with the window down - very cool. With the window down I can hear the exhaust very clearly.

Most importantly, it has helped increase the performance of the car by freeing exhaust flow and by reducing weight in the back of the car. And it is stainless. And it fits. And the angle of the tailpipe is adjustable. And did I say it is light, too?
