My Poor Baby :(
It hurts so much seeing her online and someone making so much money off of my hard work. I sold her in 2008 which was the biggest mistake I've ever made letting her go and have had a few other Turbo Porsche's but none of them ever came close to her.
I've been in contact with someone that's trying to buy her which I know she will be in great hands. Link to her ad Abreu Motors LLC | 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo What she looked like when I 1st got her http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/p...riversside.jpg |
C'est la vie ...
Oh, and since no one else will say it, I will; Man up, Dude, you sold the car five years ago. Your choice. Who among us doesn't have a car (or cars) we regret selling. Qwitcher belly-achin' and move on. |
Buy her back! This is your chance..but install the impact bumpers back...don't get me wrong it looks great now but would look hot with the originals back on. What a sweet color combo too...
|
Please stop crying. Nobody.. "Made money off of you". Put your big girl panties on and buy it back.
|
I sold my 85 930 four years ago and had sellers remorse for it everyday. Recently I had the chance to buy it back so I had to man up and put a few things off but it paid in the Long run. She is back home with me where she belongs. If you can I say get it back. Good luck.

I would love to buy it back but just can't justify their asking price.

Beautiful car, but is someone really going to pay nearly 60k for it?

I'm with everyone else, suck it up!

Don't know what you sold her for, but if it's causing you sleepless nights then you know what to do.
Just a comment: I don't understand why sellers sometimes don't include a picture of the engine bay. Nice under-engine pictures for what they're worth, but people want to see the ponies that drive her. And about the impact rubber-baby-buggy-bumpers....well, a purist would say to put them back on, but I do like the look without them. Without them, will it result in a couple-thou difference in selling price? Just another one of those U.S. mandated-regulated things that had really no valid purpose at all other than to f...up some otherwise clean lines....IMHO. |
Life is too short to own the same car twice.
|
This car is way over priced for the "current condition". It's a waste on how someone would mod such a special one-off color car. Originality is key when it comes to these cars, and this car no longer has original parts/paint. Seller is asking 25k premium for a color. Someone with too much money will come along and buy it; not knowing anything about 86-89 930 models.
At-least it isn't as far gone as this car: 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo, $57,500 - Cars.com |
It's funny how the yellow, pimped-out car in the above add doesn't even have sport seats in it (has the much lamer, no bolster seats). I don't care for the bumper change on either of the two cars in this thread, but as Cole would say, "who gives a sh#t what other people think about what you do to your car".

I think some misunderstood my post, Its not the fact someone is asking a premium for it as much as seeing the car again.
I had a chance to buy the car back about a year ago when the asking price was $39K but I already had a 930 in the garage and didn't have the space for it. I found out later how much the car ended up selling for and that's the hard part. I don't want to post what I sold it for, what the buyer ended up selling it for because they are members but all would be shocked. The car has all factory paint but the mirrors, bumpers, head light rings. The engine has never been opened up. The guy had it PPI and it in top shape and one of the nicest one he has seen. |
No-one misunderstood your post. I'm just stating that it's overpriced. If you miss it so much, go buy it!

I remember your posts and pictures of that car back then. Mine is a similar color but a little darker blue grey metallic and with linen color interior while that one is cork interior with aftermarket seats that don't really match.
If I sold mine I'd be heartbroken over it so I understand your feelings. I know you didn't ask but I like the origonal 930 bumpers and wheels better than the ones you put on. I have the same RH speedline style wheels on mine but I never had the origonal light weight easier steering Fuchs wheels. To each their own... I've never liked the 964 bumper and rocker panel look. I'm old school and I like the '69 through '73 911's best with the exception of the 930 that is so curvy and sexy it's. . . . gorgeous from every angle, even straight down from above. |
