Seems like the deal of the year

I guess this is what happens when you are not that good at writing an ad. This car is a factory 505 slant nose convertible and it only went for 22k. Nowhere in his ad does he mention the fact that it is a 505 car but when you decode the vin it lists it as a flachbau and 330 HP. The car also has a ruf 5 speed installed. He spends so much time talking about his business and how rich he was and so little time describing the car properly. I think that cost him at least 15K. I know this car is not for everyone it is a special car none the less. Am I crazy or was this a really great deal?

If major things like engine and tranny are ok than it's one hell of a deal. If not, those two items alone can kill this great deal. The unknown would keep me away. I do like the car though.

Car looks pretty rough in the photos. 22k is not cheap for a 930 with needs. How much is a factory slant cabrio worth in pristine original condition? I honestly don't know slant values.

If engine and tranny are good then 22k is an ok buy to use as a driver, only 57,000 miles on it. Probably would need a complete restore body and interior wise, that would cost like 30 grand i guess.

The dude tells you absolutely nothing about what this car NEEDS. All he says is that it's not in running condition, whatever the hell that means. An awful lot of jaw-flapping and worthless mumbo-jumbo in my opinion. I couldn't give a rats ass about his financial status 'back then'. PPI is a must, for starters. The sad thing is, someone will buy this thing for 30K and end up with who knows what. The seller doesn't know this car at all from what I'm reading.

If you are referring to the decoder that will list car options based on VIN, that decoder is BOGUS. If you put in any VIN of a 930, you'll find that everybody has the Special Wishes/Exclusive Programme 330BHP engine.

US vin # with no factory slant nose crest on steering wheel + euro 506 front spoiler, red flag. Without further investigation I would say that's a conversion.

irregardless a good deal. Seems cheap. A little tacky here and there but easily worth a lot more.

I have not seen any 930 sell for 22k in the past couple of years and take into account a ruf 5 speed and some of the other parts and again seems like a good deal. I was wondering about the steering wheel and console not being 930S but the vin comes back as a flacbau. Maybe the decoder is wrong but I never checked a vin and had it come back with that option. Still say 22k for a 930 convertible is a steal.

Absolutely for sure. I would take all I can get. especially if a factory SN and with a RUF 5spd. Easily worth twice ++ once put right. Or just a nice one to keep for awhile.
