Looking to get into a 996 Twin Turbo for a little while.

It won't be the same visceral or sensory experience, but it will be nice to have the creature comforts that come with a 996.

Frankly, I am torn and know I will regret letting this car go because it is rock solid dependable and I will be hard pressed to replace it with another like mannered 930.

einsteiger 11-05-2013 06:24 AM

Nice car!! This one will be gone before I get my banker on the phone. :) ["What? You're cashing in ANOTHER CD??]

Ken911 11-05-2013 07:13 AM

I solved my need for creature comforts and having an acceptable date car by getting a Cayenne S. Now the turbo is apart for another paint job and an efi swap.

Tt surgeon 11-05-2013 08:13 AM

Having had a 930, 993tt, 3 997TTs.....I'd keep the 930, its value is only increasing while 996tt are still decreasing (think red headed stepchild), get a nice cayenne. As was mentioned.

speednme1 11-05-2013 08:32 AM

Creature comforts? About the only creature comfort the 930 needs is a good working ac..plenty of aftermarket suppliers out there to fix that..and your value should not be hurt. What else can you need..heated seats?.longjohns..Bluetooth?..upgrade the stereo..abs? Better brake pads...power steering? Beats going to the gym....see where I'm going with this...:D

Honestly it's a beautiful looking car, I wish you well on your sale...at least your staying in the familySmileWavy

Wish you were closer. :(

It is already gone. Waiting for the wire transfer to clear.

Wow Paul... didn't see that one coming.

Sorry to see you go. I've very much enjoyed / appreciated all of your forum contributions and will always remember all our (alleged) shenanigans.

I've ridden in that car, it's clean / tight / solid / squared away - no bs fersure.

As is always said and typically proved... you'll be back 8-).

Congrats on the <24hr sale, and enjoy the 996tt. Keep in touch, regardless...

blockhed 11-05-2013 09:43 AM

I'm coming from 996TT into 930 world :)
No I didn't buy the car but I am on the hunt for the right one...
996tt is super fun if you need help or ideas let me know I can go through all the need to be addressed areas as well as worth while mods w/out losing your purse and driveability.

I am not going anywhere. I am still swimming in the Turbo world, (get it? swimming ... water cooled) and PP will always be my internet family.

Besides ... with all the hooligans in this forum, who else is going to moderate? We have to have at least one adult present in the pool.

JFairman 11-05-2013 09:51 AM

Wow, it sold quick. Looks like a really nice car in great condition.

I can't help but wonder (I think most everyone else too) if you got your asking price and did it sell in the USA or is it going back to Germany or somewhere else?

Good luck with the transistion and whatever car comes next...

It's like the wild wild west out here..have to be quick on the draw. Hopefully you'll find one that will be everything you remembered.

Miguel Antonett 11-05-2013 11:39 AM

What???????

Nothing to say Paul other than "you'll be back". As you know, I've had nine 911s throughout the years, the 930 sees them coming and going but it's the one that stays in the garage - there is no substitute.

If you recall, the "other Paul" sold his and guess what? = bought it back.

Good luck!

jwasbury 11-05-2013 01:55 PM

you know you're going to need to change your screen name now. i bet "prials" is still available;)

seems like you possbily could have squeezed more out of the price seeing how quickly it sold, though I suspect you sold for more than you paid originally so its probably still "long term capital gain" from your perspective.

congrats and hope you enjoy the next chapter.

xbmwguy 11-05-2013 03:29 PM

paul congrats on the sale!!! and when pete gets off his ass and puts together the next palooza we will let you still play :D
