interesting fuel pump for big horsepower builds

Anybody tried one of these new Fuelab Prodigy variable speed fuel pumps? It has an internal electronic speed regulator that slows down the pump motor when the engine isn't using much fuel.
Seems like it might be quiet during idle and low rpms and then it speeds up when the motor uses more fuel. You wouldn't hear it then anyway.
The biggest one says it's good for 1800HP.
It might be a good fuel pump for big HP E85 builds without making a lot of of noise at idle and during city driving like some other fuel pumps.

Might be ok if you have or are converting to EFI but you would have to develop a map for it.
This isn't new technology; OEMs have been using variable speed brushless motors for fuel pumps for a while now.

The fuel pumps speed regulator is digital and internal inside the fuel pump.
It's for EFI and if you're rolling your own you're going to be mapping the EFI anyway.

My thought is that it might be a lot quieter when the fuel pump motor slows down at engine idle speed than the other big high flow fuel pumps like the Aeromotive A1000 series.
It is expensive and they make them in different sizes at different prices.

Here's the biggest one they claim is good for up to 1800HP. You can get them from Jeg's but the ebay sellers usually have lower prices and free shipping.

Gez, what size fuel lines does that thing use? Looks like it uses a fitting the size of a garden hose.

Both inlet & outlet on the smaller sized 700hp EFI pump have AN-10 fittings with a O-ring seal. I am working on fittings adapted to M16 that fit 964 & 993 systems.
