Porsche 930 turbo EFI
Hello colleagues ,
I live in France, actually I'm owner of porsche 930 turbo with EFI , gt35r turbo... The ECU unit is Skynam sybelle. Unfortunately this modification in this porsche , nobody knows in France... ![]() I bought the car with complete modification EFI. During one year I never setup correctly the air fuel ratio for my 930... ![]() I ordered recently new ignition system (I put out the delco genuine system).. I would like to know how much boost pressure can I put with this modification ? of course the engine is completly rebuilt (piston, valve, cam 964 rs etc...) I would like to have good power with good fiability... Actually I kept the standard spring in the wastegate (0.8 bars) If somes people can help me or give me advice ?? Thanks a lot in advance Have a nice day Geoffrey (xander) |

What size injectors are in the unit?

We need to know more about your system. Are you running electronic ignition or did you retain the distributor? Do you have a wide band O2 sensor and can you monitor and log it? What intake system? What size injectors? What crank sensor setup and are you running sequential with a cam sensor? What are you using for idle control? What algorithm are you running (speed density, MAF, etc.)? What tuning capabilities does your software support and do you have access to a local tuner/dyno? Pictures would help as well.

Hello ,
So there are injectors 450cc siemens, I have wide band AEM sensor for check the AFR. Complete ECU to manage injectors and ignition (actually I'm replacing the genuine distributor by electronical ignition) It's MAF system, complete K jetronic is removed... Actually I have one tuner to setup my engine, but we don't know how much power this engine can handle.... Spark plug are BOSCH W4CS (silver) The wastegate is genuine with 0,8 Bars pressure... The turbo is garret GT35R cooled by water (additionnal system with water pump) The engine is rebuilt with piston mahle, titan spring valve, sodium valve, camshaft 964 RS,crankshaft is genuine but new) I'll try to do somes pictures of the engine bay... My question is, how many horse power can I have with this engine with good fiability... (street drive and sometimes track) The onwer before rebuilt by himself this engine but never setup correctly the engine :-( |

Hi,
Congratulations on the Turbo. MAF system? That is interesting. Does this have a larger intercooler, sport headers, or a free flowing muffler? How much power you can make depends on these parts. A point of reference: we did a simple 3.3L C2T EFI conversion ~9 years ago -- first Porsche to run AEM engine management: * original flat CIS manifold and original heads (not ported) * short stainless sport headers * free flow 3" muffler * GT35R * stock C2T intercooler * 964 camshafts Still going strong today, and it has been running 1.25bar boost on 91-octane fuel. It made 468hp/430tq to the wheels. On 1.05bar it did 455hp/410tq to the wheels. The C2T intercooler and stock port sizes were this engine's limiting factors.

At first, thanks for your support guy's !
I see that in US a lot of people tune the porsche 930 turbo ![]() I forgot to say that my intercooler is now big front intercooler (HKS) put above the engine (home made pipe) I have free big muffler The owner before is modified the wastegate, he put a screw in the head with plate for compress spring (with screw fully tighten , I have near 1.2 bars....) at the moment I have 0.8 bars (screw removed) How much power can I have really with this pressure? approximatly of course... |
