It's hard to believe that two people in the same thread advocate the stock steering wheel; perhaps one of the ugliest pieces of OEM **** ever used by a manufacturer! If a potential buyer is somehow swayed off of a car due to the lack of the OEM wheel, then he/she/it does not deserve to buy it.
![]() And harder to sell a car because it is guards red? Utter rubbish/nonsense/hogwash!

Very Very nice car with good mods! Hate to see you sell it and having all the stock parts is a major bonus.
I agree with Ronnie. The stock wheel is the worst!!. First thing i changed on both of mine! I can't imagine what my 89 with 17k miles is going to be worth one day? But just love owning and driving a 930 so probably will never sell it.

I'd love to spend about 30 minutes looking it over for all the details of a well preserved car.

Yes, the stock wheel is ugly, mines in a box.
GR is a great color, wouldn't deter me at all. |

Funny thing is whenever I take anyone out for a ride or anyone sits in my car they all comment on the steering wheel. I love it.

Can you share that color data you have, because I've always heard black and silver were more common than red in 930s. C

I agree but my example was hypothetical. Just did a quick search on ebay under Porsche 911 1978-1998
35 Red 24 Black 12 silver 21 white 8 other 930s there were: 12 Red 9 Black 2 white 1 yellow 5 others Last edited by galileo; 08-03-2014 at 12:13 PM.. Reason: error |

Colors make a big difference when valuing a Porsche. Buddy been trying to sell an arena red WB coupe, priced aggressively, he can't give it away.

^^^ That is so funny to me that I'm not sure if you are serious or just doing some chain yankin'.

Color can be subjective at any given time...what's hot at the moment may not be later or vice versa. I know of a 75 930 that is being returned to its original color of salmon metallic....looks copper in different lighting. When I was first told of the color I thought it was going to be nasty looking but after I saw the pics of the recent paint...It is hot! in a unique kind of way. Guards Red IMO will always be a favorite...regardless of what time. It is true that unique colors will command the highest prices but as others have pointed out condition should trump all......unless it is a special color a buyer has to have.
Glws...I hope you get every dime you ask for;-)

I'll dive in here and admit that my least desirable colors are always black, yellow, and red. I have owned 2 black cars in my life and this is my second red one. That said, I ignored my rules for the aforementioned reasons: the condition, the mods, the history, etc. trumped everything.
Oddly enough when I go to P-car events all the 930's are black, silver and white. Mine is always the only red one. I guess all the red ones are for sale! Last edited by bmwtmx; 08-03-2014 at 02:10 PM.. Reason: Misstatement |
