What's a "sprint booster"?
Craisglist ad for a local 996tt lists "sprint booster" amongst its mods. What's that?
2003 Porsche turbo 911 996 model

It's kinda like a flux capacitor....
Or, this: Why SprintBooster Works Don't get excited, it's only for "drive by wire" throttles.

Pretty sure it's a type of child booster seat - I'm sure it adds quite a bit of value to the car. Either that or an electronic throttle gizmo that gives the illusion of more power

Quote:
A sprint booster was popular in the early water-cooled turbo cars. As to what it does: simply put, it boosts sprint.

On cars with electronic throttle it increases the effective throttle opening to pedal movement.
It is like the short shift kit for the trans shift only electronic and applied to the throttle. My wife's little Fiat 500 has it from the factory. On the Fiat it is a button on the dash called Sport. |
