I am still wanting to purchase another car. Called on a 87 at a high end dealer with a 30k mile car and was told $235, another I asked about was $265. Chit, right now, if I found the right car, would go $115. Prices have totally changed the fun factor.

Oh Wow!! One thing about all this, they're must be some super restored 930s out there now. A few years ago about all 1970s 930s 1976/79 were all worn out and tired.

Insane....totally insane. Even my high mileage "with history" 930 might be worth something someday. Will be many moons before I need to sell her, and then only if social security tanks and my investments go to chit, and I need the bucks to stay alive.
Think about it though: With a warm blanket, a person could always live in his favorite investment and still drive to the store (under full boost) for some Ensure when hungry.

An interesting tidbit about the listing; says the car has been "pampered", and yet the thermal reactors are still in place (one of the dumbest, and most mechanically harmful, "things" ever put on a vehicle), so to me, that indicates that the car was neglected by previous ownership.

great looking car. first "low miles" car i have seen that was not covered in baked on oil under the car. the under side actually looked as it should.

i like the color, but then anything besides RED, black or maybe even white is a nice change.

might get 200k.

makes me think of the guy that had the 75 930 that was told to make it into a track car......

Cars even with history are valuable... As the values skyrocket, doing repairs becomes inconsequential...

On a $30,000 car... an accident or damage can scare people off. A worse case scenario $15,000 repair and full repaint are a huge hurdle...

On a $300,000 car, that same repair is just an inconsequential nuisance.

Look at Dino's. Train wreck barnfinds are selling for 80% of the value of a restored car.... My freind had a dino that was wrapped around a pole, and restored. I don't see anyone expressing concern....

For $100k you can pretty much restore anything on a car... If this keeps up, burned out frames will be worth $100k...

I wouldn't say the car has been neglected because the thermal reactors are still on the car. The owner probably wasn't knowledgable enough to know that the reactors should be removed. I think its a wonderful, original example and the fact that the exhaust and air injection system are intact only adds to the value to the car. At this point the new owner probably isn't going to be driving it much. Agreed this is another issues. The issue with the thermal reactors are well documented, but many owner are not Porschephiles and just enjoy(ed) their 930 as they came from the factory.
