How to install intake elbow?

Trying to replace my old oil soaked and leaking intake elbow. The new one is very stiff and after an hour of struggling I still can't get it on. Is there a trick to this (engine in)?

Radiator hose tool. You can get them at Harbor Freight tools or google them and ebay has a bunch of them like these...

Great advice. Went to Canadian Tire and bought one like the tool on the right. Looks like a dental pick. Just $10. With a long screwdriver providing a push from one side, the tool slipped the elbow on in a minute. If I had only known!!

Thanks !!!!!

put a little oil on the inside of both ends.
i slide the elbow under the fuel lines towards the front of the car then slide it on the pipe to the turbo. then onto the AFM.

Motor oil will eventually dissolve the rubber that hose is made of after a while. It's fine oil mist from the crankcase breather and oil seperator being fed back into the stock air cleaner thats ruined his over time.

Vaseline or silicone divers grease works well to lubricate rubber hoses like that without rotting them.

Boiling water and soaking rubber parts in them briefly can also aid in these sort of things.
Glad the radiator pick worked for you

Used a little amourall. Slick but harmless

I would say soap water. It does not make the friction area slippery after it drys out.
