"Amateur sheet metal floors have been fitted for the purpose of moving the car around"........

The tool kit looks OK.
More spray foam and some spray paint would really finish off the underside. Shame he rushed it. Could've duct taped that drivers seat and the headliner as well.

This has been a big topic of conversation on facebook. Nasty as f#c%, but replacing a pan isn't brain surgery. That car cut up and parted out could get you $10K.

I think they are smoking crack.....what rust you see is just the tip of the iceberg. That thing has been sitting in an open field with waist high grass for years to look like that!

I bought a '76 Jaguar XJ12C that was in the same condition as this poor 912.
At first you say to yourself "that kinda looks OK, it's only a little rust", until you really get into it....then you end up running down the street screaming.

I got lucky and unloaded my mistake for a $300 profit, to a guy that owned a body shop. I gave him my condolences when he trailered and drove off with it.

Never again will anything rusty be in my garage, lesson learned with minimal pain.

Mark

someone found something up in the north east and easily stepped into something that person could not easily recover from. will say this time and time again, nothing beats putting your hand on it and checking it out in person.

It's funny that there is a an ass for every seat. I bought a rusty 1970 911t and was so excited to see the silhouette sitting there but as soon as I started to dig deep it got real. Looked like this 912 before he added the steel "panels". I delisted it within a week and sold it to some 912 guy that was super excited to get a 911 and didn't even care that it was a barny rubble car. I hope he had the skills to pay the bills. It was together because of the paint.

You guys are all spoiled...

I frequent a 914 board, you should see the stuff those guys fix... I just got a rust bucket myself to cut out the cage for my other car. I couldn't bring myself to cut it up, so It's turning into a test subject to see if I can get it back on track. We shall see how long that lasts...

kenikh 07-28-2015 10:47 PM

Fixing a 914 hell hole is like fixing stage 4 cancer

quattrorunner 07-28-2015 10:49 PM

It can be fixed.

jfort 07-29-2015 01:48 PM

It hurt to look at those pictures.

canamfan 07-29-2015 02:15 PM

One day, in the not so distant future....we'll be glad to see these in any condition
