This is pretty awesome timing. I just started my winter project on Sunday which consists of converting my car to EFI using an MS3Pro.

great job! Where did you end up putting your clt sensor?

I tapped an existing hole on the breather cover.

I for one would love to see pictures of the set up!! Where is that GIF with the "this thread is no good without pictures"!?

dos531 11-19-2015 11:07 AM

Not much to see, I kept it looking fairly stock

Look at all that extra room, nice!!

Ah, I was hoping to see how you mounted the coils, where you mounted the ECU, what your wiring harness looked like? Could you just move that intercooler outa the way? ;-)

Cheers,

Keith

I'm curious how you dealt with the fuel pump relay.

pkabush 11-19-2015 12:14 PM

Nice! Car sounds great. Do you have a target power goal ?

The MS3 fuel pump signal provides ground, so it is just hooked up to the overboost ground switch.

Right now i'm still on stock head and cams which is going to limit how much I can make . I'm gathering the parts to remedy that situation as we speak. I'm expecting around 400-420whp with this setup.

I have a full bay intercooler on order from Bell right now as well.

Here is a link to the spreadsheet of the parts I used. There are a few other items I havent added on there like generic relays, wires, insulation, solder etc. I may have forgotten something so I will keep updating it.

Just another Q for ya. With a fuel pressure regulator and fuelrails, is the fuelhead necessary? I figured there was a split after the FPR to the 2 rails.

Make sure you check the input impedance / current drain needed from the ignition module that MS3 will be driving. Going from memory, the output can only sink 20mA current so if you connect 2 ignition modules to it, it may overload it (learnt this first hand :( )

BTW - congrats on successful install!

If you don't mind, what Bosch crank position sensor are you using?

thanks!

You're right. I know they say the ls coils can be driven by one output, but i'm not 100% on the vw coils like i'm using. The part number for the crank sensor is on my spreadsheet, but i think it's from a ford focus.

No fuel head, and no accumulator. The adapter lines from GSF make that part super easy. The fuel comes from the fuel filter into the left rail, then across the engine to the other rail, and the FPR is mounted directly on the back of the right rail. The return then goes back across to the stock line :)

That`s what i thought. Can`t wait for this to start. I`ll ask more Q later on like fitting the TPS etc but in the meantime, could you add links in the spreadsheet which so i get the correct parts? Thanks a bunch and can`t believe i just committed to EFI by your post. Gonna be cheap presents under the tree for the rest of the family. ;)

I posted the link to the spreadsheet on my onedrive. That way I can update it if I realize I missed anything. Here it is again http://1drv.ms/1Qx4bzb
