Btw, do you mean crank sensor when you have written TPS sensor? TPS is throttle position sensor and the crank sensor is for ignition no? Just to clarify.

I've been off the board for a few weeks, nice work!!

Welcome to the darkside!

Can you add EBC?

I am running a Tech3 with EBCS, but I am going to change out my Tech3 for a VEMS, so I can do COP and boost per gear, my car is useless with 1.3bar in 2nd (1st is for parking).

MS3pro has a ton of capability. I am running basic closed loop boost control now with a gm boost control solenoid. It also has boost by gear, traction control, launch control etc. I'm not using half of the features it has. The biggest one for me was the knock sensing capability with individual cylinder knock detection and knock windowing.

Got the links mixed up. Fixed and added a couple items

Question: can MSPro do EBC?

MSPro can do just about anything! :)

It really does have a silly amount of features. The next thing I need to add is a clutch switch of some sort so I can use the launch control :D

Then I need to plumb in the Flex fuel sensor as well as replace all the rest of the fuel lines with e85 compatible hose.

If I can find a compatible VSS signal then the boost by gear and traction control feature would be pretty handy as well.

I have antilag (MS calls launch control) on my MSII.

I can hit full boost at a stoplight. Not that I've tried full boost, but 1 bar came quick at half throttle, so I chickened out and let off.

Can you PM me the III and X prices, please? Thanks in advance.

Dos531,

Again thanks so much for this wonderful bit of information! I was messing with your spreadsheet a little bit, and I noticed that your Total does not include the:
Crank Trigger
Coils
Coil connectors
Knock Sensor

Not hard to fix on our own, but just wanted to share that with you.

Again Thanks!

Rich

Good catch, I didn't even notice. It's fixed now SmileWavy

I opened a wholesale account with diyautotune and they have a black friday sale going on right now so they're even cheaper. I actually have the ms2 that I was going to use, but I decided I really wanted the ms3pro.

I am interested as well... do you mind PM me the price of a MS3 Pro with their standard fly wires?

thanks!

I'm interested in where you mounted the MS3-Pro. In the engine compartment? They say it can handle the heat, but I'm not 100% convinced.

The 930 engine compartment doesn't really get hot compared to a water cooled engine compartment.

The fan shroud blows hot air straight down out of compartment while engine tin blocks the radiant heat from coming up pretty good.

It should be just fine.

I am using pretty much same set up - GSF crank wheel and same VR sensor so am interested in knowing what air gap do you set with the sensor?

I had been chasing a high load/high RPM misfire and now 100% dead in the water as I started fiddling with the VR sensor (thinking it may be bad). Now can't even get MS3 to sync...

In fact, wondering if I had blown something in the HW so may need replacement :(

Mounted the ECU under the seat where the stock one was. The engine bay doesnt get all that hot while running, but when stopped it heats up real quick. Not worth the risk to me.

I believe we gapped the sensor to about .035". I also ran a 10k resistor in line with the vr sensor. In the manual it says if you have sync loss at high rpm with the high tooth count wheels to install the resistor, so I just put it in to begin with. I also installed a condenser on the supply wire to the coils, as that is supposed to reduce noise. I've never had any sync loss so far.

Thanks for the info. For the 10k resistor this is in series with the signal lead of VR (and not I parallel across VR signal and ground)?

Mine was running for a season but continued to have issue at high boost/high RPM and I never had sync loss as well before. But after trying to replace the VR sensor I can't even get her to sync anymore 😔
