'78 930 Fuchs - Tire Sizing

Hi Guys,

What are the largest tires I can squeeze on my 930 with stock factory
8"x 16" rears Fuchs wheels and 7"x 16" front Fuchs.



Returning much of the car to stock config in preparation
for sale in spring.

225 fronts & 245 rears

You can get a 245 on the sevens (pretty easy), and I have seen 275 (if you can locate them) on a set of eights. Whereas a 245 or a 255 will easily fit an eight (and are easier to locate).

Tire dynamics do change when you go too far past the sweet spot (both wider & thinner). However lowriders, hotrodders, and VW Bug guys have done all that kind of stuff for years.
