Passenger sport seat '84 930

Dammit!

So I open the passenger door to put my gym bag in the car for a "clean break" early morning workout the night before; no big deal, done it a thousand times. I am really (was really) enjoying the new seat leather. So I lift the passenger seat tilt lever on the side of the seat to put my bag in the back seat, and "snap" goes some internal spring! Now I can't adjust the seat back to put stuff, or a kiddo in the back seat...

The question? Is this a difficult fix? It's the little things that can really piss you off, and this one happened at just the right time to make me want to look up and say: Really?

I am hoping that this will not require removing the seat and leather to fix.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks again everyone.
