Seems like the Turbo folks are much more receptive to the slantnose than the narrow body folks.

JFairman 07-23-2016 06:56 PM

They're both nice... best opinions will probably come from people who own or have owned both.

TZ 197 07-23-2016 08:37 PM

Yeah, the slantnose bodies are so ugly and ricer. Stick that in your q-tip dispenser!

Because narrow body folks are the only ones hanging out in OT where this was originally asked? But you said their replies were scientifically valid and that all Pelicans thought the same thing since enough people had been polled. I'm so confused.

The front fenders are ok. I think the rear fenders with the air intake are so ugly it makes me not like the car.

My thoughts on the slant nose is similar to other classic cars I see on the road. They are beautiful and I'm glad to see someone is spending the time and money to keep them up but I would not buy one for myself. I prefer the original 930 front fenders, the y seem to balance out the lines of the 930 better. JMO

Sorry for "negative" opinion, but I never liked the look. To loose now the rest of your Sympathy: I don't like the look of a 935 either...

RarlyL8 07-24-2016 04:01 PM

Slants are really a love them or hate them look. I've loved them from the first time I saw one. Just has that exotic look, Ferrari-esque if you will. It took decades for me to finally get into one and I absolutely love it. My old Red Rocket got a lot of attention on the road and this car does as well, without the neon guards red paint. How can you not smile when this screams up behind you?

There is one in my hometown, Buffalo NY. I saw it once, same 930 as ours, same year, same color with 15k miles.

Sweet and sexy

Slantnose 930's are much better looking in person than in photos for a lot of folks. Personally I love the car...imo the slant adds character to the car. In terms of visually modifying a slant....nothing is needed..unless someone wanted wider wheels...but the car should be free of wild wings, wild graphics, body modifications..etc...etc.

Of course this excludes all Kremer and DP cars....those are in a league of their own.

911tracker85 07-25-2016 05:46 AM

in the process of full restore on this one. DP rear deck/wing. it is a clone build on a 78 SC with 78 3.3 modified, twin plug, but stock SC suspension / brakes.

I will take it to the next level including full suspension and brakes.

still in tear down mode, this will take a bit of time...
