suddenly super rich and high idle

Fired up the 930 last evening, the engine idled at 2000rpm and AFR's in the low 10's. Never one to retreat I stalled it only once in an intersection, made a quick direction change and luckily had to push it only 30 feet or so into a conveniently open park spot. The ensuing warm start was difficult, pinching the AAR valve to IC hose did bring the idle down. Any immediate thoughts? Fired right up today but still high idle, drove with a clamp on the hose to bring rpm down but any throttle that produces any level of boost bogs it right down with super low afr. (stall, push, repeat...) I don't even tell people why I'm 20 minutes late anymore although the heavy exhaust odor is pretty much a dead giveaway...

Sounds like an intake leak to me. Check injector blocks and boost hoses first.

If the rear fuel pump is not getting power the CIS warmup devices aren't either and the symptoms are similar to yours. Could be rear fuel pump relay.

I would say the the wur and the aav is not getting the power, thus it is working in cold start phase.

Now we're talking. Definitely seems like an on/off situation, I pulled the connectors to both plugs while it was running high idle and neither one had any effect on the idle. Thanks for the starters, back at it this afternoon. Tom

that wont do anything even when working.
you need to check power at the connectors

^^^

Or first just switch out the appropriate fuel pump relay, as Jim suggested in post #3, and see if running is back to normal (since rear pump relay also supplies power to WUR and AAV).

If the wur and the aav is not getting the power, it wont make any difference if You remove the plug or not. Measure the current between the two legs of the connector (wiring side). There should be 12+ volts.

Jim, You the man, thanks much. Just a touch of the relay (less than 1yr old, red) and I felt it engage.
Rawknees, I'd say it was just a little loose in the socket and not quite touching the sides.
