The Ungo Box..
Just when I thought I've seen every crazy aftermarket product that could be stuck on a 930 this pops up.
Interesting as goofy as it is it seems to be a period correct mod! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I remember them ! The Ungo Box

LOL, just went out to the garage to take this pic...
The install job is pretty clean, but there is a wad of wires coming out of it... I'm terrified to mess with it... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1487303502.jpg |
I ripped mine out and repaired all the cuts and splices in the wiring harness. Saved about 50lbs. when I was done.

I loved my Ungo Box. I bought a brand new 1978 911SC from Bruce Canepa off his fathers Palomar Lincoln Mercury dealership lot in Santa Cruz where Bruce would deal Porsche's . It was equipped with the famous Ungo Box :)

Pat, so yours was installed in Australia?!?!?! :)
|
I have one in my car and i think i broke the sensor or gyro looking thing under the windshield in the front trunk and might have to uninstall it. Seems like one hell of a job. Wires going everywhere :D

In 86 my 635CSi was optioned with the BMW radar detector, I love old useless tech. Guess that's why I own a 930. :)

Many years ago I installed an UNGO box in my 70 911. I thought it was a great car alarm for the period. Google install instructions, they are not that hard to un-install once you know where the wires go.
