fuel line, brake hose, recirc/BOV
It was warm on the east coast today so I got a chance to do a few things on my list, and I have a question or two for the forum.
- got a chance to replace leaking fuel line from pump to filter, using Len's replacement line. Worked like a charm and fairly easy swap. Need to do the rest of the lines at some point soon, but at least I can drive now with no leaks! - Have EFI, so was able to run the engine with intercooler off the car while checking for fuel leaks after replacement. Noticed if I put my hand over the intake opening where the IC connects at the recirc assembly, then I get suction from the downpipe where the air filter connects. If I put my hand over the downpipe, then I get suction at the opening where the IC connects at magnesium recirc assembly. It seems there is a vaccum via the piston in the recirc assembly. I will check the seals and R&R, but thought it strange to have a leak across the piston. Does anyone know if this will affect performance? Wondering if I should just go to an actual BOV and dump the magnesium assembly...? - Brake booster vaccuum hose looks funky. It appears to route from the left side manifold over the top of the trans and into a pipe coming out of the rear of the tub. Can anyone confirm this is the entire length I would replace in the rear of the car? Is there a specific type of hose I can use as a replacement hose (non collapsable)? I did a search but could not pull up a past thread on this... Getting ready to drive to Hershey in a few weeks! - Cheers!
