If I was in the market I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car from you. You're one of the most knowledgeable guys around. Best of luck with the sale, and I hope you'll still come by once in a while to edumacte some of us.

Lets just hope that some limp Richarded, fishlips MF doesn't buy it and turn it back to stock!
![]() Mainly will be too bad to see Jim stop posting (which is the natural order of things when people move on). I know he's been saying for a couple of years that he no longer drives the car much because it's not fun to do so where he lives, so not much since in keeping it since Jim is not a garage queen tubesteak type (same deal with BigPeter, buttofcourse). And join the ranks of youse Turbo-less girly men?!?! No thanks, bisch!!!

GLWS, Jim.
That said, this is a sad day for the 930 forum.

Say it's not so, just a bad dream! Must have been those damn cats you've been fighting over the years. We must do what we must do, and I respect your decision regardless of the reason. Gonna miss your input here, Jim.

One thing that often gets me thinking "hmmmm" about this whole Porsche stuff is the ridiculous cost of ownership (talking parts costs, since I do my own work). Even the aftermarket parts costs are straight up stupid. My brother has been doing a lot of work on a friend's 1973 Corvette that hadn't been used in more than a decade (I got the a/c functioning at a ball freezing level - woooo hoooo), and all of the parts (talking everything from interior components, to suspension, to a/c gear, to engine components) are absolutely chump change compared to Porsche. Yes, the 930 is a far better car than a C3, but holy hell the Porsche tax makes me ill some times.
Sorry for the rant, Jim!

So Jim, the $64,000 question...
Will you stay on the 930 turbo forum as a regular contributor? Your input is greatly valued. And we don't have to wade thru that Rawknees humor ![]() ![]() Sorry Rawknees had t do it! Rahl |

Yes
I'll still hang out on the forum. I'm single and stay home most of the time so this forum has become a large part of my social life if that makes sense. I'll feel kinda empty for sure but I come to this forum frequently everyday.. it feels a little like a friend in a way and I don't have anything to replace it with. Sounds and feels a little odd or lonely but that's the way it is. Thanks for the nice replies, Jim |

Fairman, I am totally serious here. Before you sell, wait until 1 AM tomorrow morning. Roll both windows down, and make a fast pass on the nearest freeway.
If you can still let it go, I guess it is OK. Fairman replaced his cylinders and pistons while the engine was still in the car, and it turned out perfectly. Natural born wrencher. Unstoppable. |
