PDM (power distrubution module) Idea

I working on the mother of all wiring harnesses for my EFI conversion and I ran across this thing during my travels.

http://pdm60.com/

It is a PDM designed for motorcycles and UTVs to minimize wiring when adding accessories like lights and stereos. Same principle as the PDMs from Motec and Racepak just smaller and more affordable.

Anyway, when you create an EFI harness you have to have some circuits outside of the ECU to power the ECU itself and higher load items like fuel pumps and injector drivers that the ECU can't drive. Do you think this little black box could do the job rather than wiring in and extra fuel panel and relays for those circuits?

The outputs are configurable through software and you can adjust the amp loads and trigger settings too.

Not a bad looking part. I'll be integrating this on my car in the near future:

Ecumaster PMU

They are very reasonably priced at $799, CAN-bus and a whole host of other features to integrate seamlessly with a standalone ECU. It's also nice to get rid of all the fuses and relays in the car in favor of one unit that is self-resetting.

Here is another one of these devices that can handle more current.

Take a look at Infinity Wire - they also have a CAN based, solid state power distribution system.
CAN Bus System • Infinitybox

Having recently done a full system from Infinity Box... next time we have to do something at that price range, we'll be using a Racepak Smartwire system. I anticipate much less frustration for all.

I want to incorporate something like these into my 78 930 build, in conjunction with Dennis making all new wiring harnesses.

thanks for posting.
