check for spark
remove connector on top rear of AFM and turn key on and check for fuel pumps running

or, remove air cleaner. turn key on, push down on air sensor plate. you should hear the injectors squealing. prefer to remove connector.

To unplug the sensor plate and check the pumps reach around the left side of the air filter and to the back about 2 O'clock. You will feel the harness and connector at the base of the air filter housing. Unplug it and turn key on as described above. If you hear the pumps run then it's ignition. If the pumps don't turn on move to the overboost.

Leave the key on and air plate sensor disconnected. Check the overboost sensor by making sure it's still plugged in, and if it is then unplug it and ground the wire to something. ( The overboost is the smaller sensor with the white wire going to it) You may need to make a short jumper. If the pumps turn on then that is your problem.
If they don't move to the fuses or relays.

Edit,
I just saw yours is an 88. There have been a lot of Yellow Relay issues. Search the forum for a way to jump it with a piece of wire.

Welcome Tony! I also have an 88 and when I had a no-start issue, I went through the sticky at the top of the 930 forum and it was tremendously helpful. My issue was the yellow relay...

Also, pics are mandatory!

Re: fuel pumps, remember there are 2 of them in our cars: one in front and underneath, by the steering rack, and the other by the left rear wheel. They usually both have to be working for a car to start. Check their relays in the fuse panel in the frunk, too.

The yellow "square" relay in the left rear engine compartment.

My problem was eventually found to be old solder joints in the speed relay under the driver's seat.

Listen for the whine of the CDI box when you turn the key.

You can also check (if it's a fuel problem) the fuel filter and fuel accumulator in the left front of the engine compartment.
