16 Fin Mahle, what are these cylinders?

I purchased a 2.2 engine reportedly built to S spec by Jerry Woods racing.

The cylinders have 16 fins, have MAHLE cast into them and I have been unable to find any information on this as everything I find says they should have 10 or 11 fins. They are not magnetic, so assume aluminum.

Does anyone know what I have here?

Yep, they appear to be birals. Which is what the S would have had.

What barrels did the 1972 911T, E and S come with from the factory? Should I be concerned or are they an acceptable option for an occasionally tracked car?

Would Jerry Woods have used these in a "track day" type build approx 15 years ago?

The cylinders were the same up to and including the '72s. Ts had cast iron cylinders and the Es and Ss had the Birals. Only difference from '70 to '72 were the pistons and cranks.

Nicasils first came out with the 2,7s.

Those cylinders should be fine on the track.
