tool to prevent engine turning
Hello,
What's the the tool for keeping the engine from turning when removing clutch bolts or timing the cams? Would make these tasks so much easier. Also, is there a specific clutch alignment tool for the G50 Trans. Mine, for the 915, seems really loose. Thanks, Chris 89 Carrera |

^^This. But to remove the clutch and flywheel, you only need an electric impact wrench. TO put those back on and use a torque wrench, you will need it, or an assistant to hold a large screwdriver between the starter mounting stud and the teeth of the starter ring gear

You mean like this? (borrowed from joe-engineer dot com). You can also use a crescent wrench in place of the angled piece of metal.

I used a spare "loop" of steel I had sitting around from the non-porsche engine mount. Nothing fancy required.
A few of these Porsche special tools are really special, but some are just basic.

The G50 alignment tool typically has a 24-spline count (or sometimes 23-spline, depending on the specific model/aftermarket clutch) and a specific pilot bushing diameter to ensure a snug fit.
