964 case spigot - is this a leak waiting to happen
So, whomever was in this case before, rotated the crank and let the rods slap against the bottom of the case spigots and left small dents.
My concern is that now, these are spots that will be prone to leaking? I'm fairly certain that the o ring sits on the flat of the case, so this should not be a problem? I usually install the o rings with curil t.

Mike, the scratch on the inside should not affect the outcome of the build.
There is something on the sealing lip, not sure from the picture but the cylinder O ring base gasket with a little 574 along the area would seal up if it’s a defect. Bruce |

In the photo, the bevelled edge looks much more pronounced than it really is.. The o ring from the cylinder base actually sits on the horizontal surface of the case, so I am confident that the dents left by the previous builder should not cause an issue. Cheers Mike
