WTB Callaway Microfueller

Does anyone know to a working Callaway microfueller for sale? Be nice if it was set up for modified 930, but anything will do.

Thanks

I have a calloway microfueler ( "930 bump kit" in the calloway instructions) that has NEVER been installed. It comes with the original instructions and all hardware. Additionally, I have sourced a trick billet injector boss to be welded into your intake source that takes the place of the cheesy calloway mount and a Bosch injector (forget the flow rate off hand) that has been professionally tested, cleaned by Witchhunter performance. I can take pics tonight if interested

Whats it worth to you?

I have one on my car which has been back for repair twice, which means I can't run while it's away (I'm in UK). It costs me about $200 to have it repaired. I don't really know how to value it, but I'm definitely interested, as it would solve my problems!

Regards

Graham

Here are the photos. The injector is rated at 300 cc per minute. I would take $150.00 plus shipping for the lot. let me know,

JP

This may piss the people here off........but you ought to consider the Imagine Auto fuel head instead.

Oh and this'll piss ya even more:

Stephen at Imagine Auto:

"Bottom line is the intake is made to flow air, not fuel. Fuel is denser than air therefore when you introduce it into the intake the deficiencies of the intake are exaggerated. For example, runners 1-3 and 4-6 especially the back two are known for terrible flow. So know you add an uncontrolled fuel injector and the intake swirls this gas around as you increase the boost. Cylinders 2 and 5 are ok, but the other 4 now come up for a game of Russian Roulette. The AFR gauge never picks it up because you are running an average AFR bank to bank. You go lean and you crank the injector open until your AFR comes in to range. Doesn't mean each cylinder is proper. Just means that the stream coming from the pipe is.

As Graham has already offered to purchase the microfueler, I think it appropriate that I reply. Clearly, there are more advanced supplemental fuel injection devices than the microfueler. (state of the art 1986 according to Bruce Anderson) Actually, I am going with the imagine auto modified fuel head on my turbo and, if you recall Craig, I directed you toward the Rennlist thread on the subject.

Graham posted a request for a microfueler for sale. Since he ALREADY owns one, I figured he was sufficiently familar with its operation that I did not need to lecture him on the alternatives out there.

If Graham decides, based upon the information you have provided, that he is no longer interested in the unit, no harm no foul. I will sell it elsewhere. Beyond its 930 application it has been successfully run in turbocharged sc configurations (Tsuter) and other european marques for hundreds of thousands of miles.

I agree that in your application (severe track use) use of the microfuer may lead to uneven fuel distribution resulting in a lean condition at high boost.

Ideally we would all convert to EFI, maybe next year.

Gents, I appreciate your comments, but FYI the car was built by a company in the UK called Autofarm. Their MD (Mr Josh Sadler) raced it in the intermarque and Porsche series over here in 89/90. It won its class on most occasions, beat 2 935K3's in the wet outright with Mr Tony Dron driving it at Donington Park. It also held the class record at the Brighton Speed trials. (The car also has a modified fuel head). I think it's fair to say that the Microfueller did it's job OK.

I am looking to convert to EFI next year. I've collected about 1/2 the bits required, and am in the middle of making plenums.

The spare microfueller keeps me on the hills!

Thanks again for you comments, and JP, cheque is on the way.

Regards

Graham Hill

AM to that! Finally anecdotal confirmation.....I too have full modified/ built motor with all the CIS upgrades. It is however just a street car with occassional hard pulls over 6K .....I am a smidge lean over 6k and want to reintall what was a Dawes Motorsports installed 7th injector. I have a Split Second AIC controller and a map to fire the injector based on boost and rpm.

Does anyone know which port on the fuel head the feed line is installed? Mine seems to have been plumed off feed line between Fuel Filter and CIS MAX MODIFIED Fuel Head ( incase anyone thinks I am looking to use a 7th Inj in place of the fuel head and WUR...- its just supplemental to take AFR at 6250 from 12.5 to 11.8.)

Any help on plumbing would be so appreciated. system pressure seems to be too high for these injectors since they are rated at 3 bar. I have replaced that 40 yr old injector.....
