1970 911 T vs 911E engine
What engine components are identical and can be use as is in both engines ?
Oil pump ? Heads ? Cam holders ? Chain boxes ? Anything else ? |
From what I understand hear are some differences. Crank: T is non-counter weighted E is counterweighted, pistons: different compression and valve pocket size, Cylinders: T cast iron E biral, not sure about rods, same dimensions but may be different material, cams: different duration and lift between T and E E cams have drive for MFI, heads: Both have the same valves and springs (set to different heights) and port size but different castings. E has threads for MFI injectors. Cam towers are same casting but E doesn't have plug at back (has seal) because of MFI drive (this can be change either direction). Case: I don't think T has studs for MFI pump mount but does have bosses. induction system (MfI vs carbs). All other parts are the same.
