Yes Definitely would be interested in looking into that. I only currently have done 964/993 heads, So would you be interested in that type, But with the your peanut chamber? If that's the case,we would need to scan one and then play with it a little to work with the 53/42.5 valves and a get the required chamber volume. Would be nice, having the support of the chamber at low valve lifts, and the squish,Flat top piston etc. Let me know if that would work, Thanks David |
Absolutely beautiful work. Are you planning on completing a version with provision for the power steering?

I don't have a sample for you to scan. It would have to be engineered from scratch. I could make one but that's more work than I really want to do....it's an old guy thing. |
I would also like to know a price for 4 heads please. This engine has 993 heads that have had some work done to them. They also have titanium valves. Dean tested them and said they flow about half way between a 993 head and a 3.8RS head. I don't know what those numbers would be. Do these heads flow/perform even better? Stock p&c's, stock stroke, webcam 993 sport cams. My engine makes 190ish hp and Jeff's newer spec custom makes 230ish. If I do a refresh, I'd like to get closer to Jeff's engine. His is 2.5 (102's), mine 2.4 (100's). I've put about 20,000 miles on the engine over 11 years.

David and Henry,
Don't forget there are many other great 2 valve air cooled heads around for inspiration of similar bore size. The Ducati SS1000DS engine comes to mind and a sample head would be available relatively cheaply from a wreck. https://i.imgur.com/GGaiGI2.jpg The round housing on the side is where the camshaft is housed. I think how they have designed the exhaust port to reduce head temperature is quite clever too. Bit more detail here: http://www.thelasturl.net/1000DStech/1000DStech.htm Bit more discussion about another recent Ducati engine with modern technology heads here: http://www.automototech.com/node/39 |

Bill and I have had some extensive conversations about my heads design [possible shrouding issues] and he'll make them but he is just crazy busy. There is a reason for that but that does not come close to suggesting that there isn't enough room in the market for another approach. |

I said nothing about David's heads. I did not say that the Xtreme heads are "THE" heads. I said "Xtreme heads are THE choice for 3.6L and larger race engine builders here in the USA." And they are! If David's heads work well, and the price is competitive, I sure they will sell and he will be successful. I just happen to think that Xtreme heads are a better solution for cmpski as Xtreme is well established and they are located in the USA. Now, I do wish Xtreme would offer a beehive spring solution. Hmm...that is something I should discuss with William Knight and Bill at Xtreme. |

The question from cmpski was "I would also like to know a price for 4 heads please." This is an indication that he might consider buying David's product. You chime in with an advertisement for Xtreme heads. If you don't recognize that as a dick move, you are indeed lost. |

let's talk 7-5 [Pacific time] T-F early is best for me. I would consider a run of 18 head to start. |

Obviously you did not "read/understand" as your mischaracterized what I said which is what you always seem to do. It's not a "dick move" to provide a recommendation to someone when you think there is a better alternative that appears to have not been considered. I did not provide an advertisement for Xtreme. I don't work for Xtreme nor am I sponsored by them. I did recommend Xtreme heads to cmpski based on personal experience and the fact that Xtreme has an extensive track record in high performance applications. cmpski is welcome to consider or ignore my recommendation. The idea that one should not recommend an alternative, especially if one thinks there is a better alternative that does not appear to have been considered, in a thread announcing/advertising a product, is ridiculous! This is a discussion forum, not a sales and marketing site (other than for Pelican). |

That said: David is taking a pretty cool adventure in the vintage Porsche world. Why not let him enjoy a moment in the sun without injecting your pompous opinion. "Better", please....based on what? |
By the way my name is Chris Pomares. I need to change this from CMPSKI to my name. I long ago changed to my name on 912bbs.org, Early911SRegistry.org and a couple months ago on Earlly911Registory. com
I appreciate the input but in no way do I want to create any tension here. |

Chris, Kudos to you these are great and innovative products you are churning out probably at a huge cost to you personally. How about a little video of the chips flying LOL
Don’t be bothered by the chit show, it is in know way your fault and it is not the first time and unfortunately not the last time we will see this uncalled for commentary. The discussion I would like to see on this thread is how about a 4 valve 4 cam setup if for no other reason than to do it, obviously a whole lot more engineering and work but we know it is possible (Singer/Williams) Richard |

Hi Richard, These are my products that im making. Chris was just interested in them. I will take some videos. Thanks David Gouk |
