Welding Fan 2.7 MFI

The fan from my 1973 2.7 engine has a few chips that require welding, can anyone confirm if the fan (impeller, part # 901 106 010 03 in the PET) is indeed magnesium or is it possibly cast from aluminum?
Thanks,
Francis

Magnesium.
Ben Mcfarland can weld the fans and the rings. Late rings are made of a crappy material but he can usually even weld those.

Fans are easy repairs. The rings are really a crap shoot

Don't forget about balancing the repaired fan, an out of balance unit can wreak havoc on the bearings
