Will a 964 oil pump go in a 1970 911 motor?

Will a 964/993 oil pump go in a 1970 911 motor?

964 107 1304R

What adjustments are required - 964 oil pump driveshaft? Case machining?

You'll need the shorter oil pump driveshaft, new ones are like $80. And I know early cases need clearancing on a couple main webs for a 930 pump, I assume similar for a 964 pump.

Nothing wrong with a larger oil pump in an early engine, but most will tell you it's not necessary for a stockish engine.

Sounds like over kill when a 4 rib pump will install without problem.
C2 pumps are part aluminum where turbo pump is cast iron, near same price point.

964 pumps will fit and they are a decent upgrade.
Autobaun Porsche Dismantlers in National City, CA. has all the Singer take offs and offers these low mileage pumps at a very reasonable prices.
The challenges are some minor main web machining and a sump cover.
