Piston casting marks
 

I'm installing new P&Cs (9.8:1) in my 911SC, and was wondering if these casting marks should be removed? I can't imagine they will help the combustion process, but are they detrimental to proper combustion and maybe best to be removed?

Upon thinking about this a little more (posted too quickly), I'm assuming they are there for a reason, and am leaving them as is -
