2.4 Through-bolts
Well I started tearing down my 2.4 tonight, and when I got to the through-bolts, they simply would not budge. Never seen anything like it. Tapped on them with a hammer, held one side, hit the other side w/ an impact wrench, finally tried one wrench on each side, with a LOT of arm power. Finally the bastards gave up w/ a wholel lot of creaking and cracking. Took forever to get them all off. I think the guy who put this engine together last time must have used loctite on these. Is there *ANY* reason to put locktite on these bolts??? Just had to vent...Thanks guys

No, no reason to use Loctite. I recommend a bit of sealant to guard against leaks...
