3.2 Head Sealing

Is using any sort of sealant on the cylinder to head joint a no no on the 3.2 im just worried about getting a good seal on this joint with just bare metal and no head gasket?

Am I just been paranoid or has anyone out there used nay sort of product on this joint?

thanks Steve

They seal with just fine without any "sealant" However you need to make sure you have a nice and true mating surface on the heads. If you are building a turbo motor you may wish to look into sealing ring that is machined to fit.

You can lap the cylinders into the heads with a water based clover 1000 or 1200 grit compound and just make sure you get an even shine on the head sealing surface on both surfaces, but make sure to clean it very, very well before final assembly.

Is this stuff like the fine valve grinding compund or is it much finer?

Much finer. It is rather hard to find to be honest, unless you buy it in 6 or more pounds at a time, which makes LOTs of water based compound. I've actually been searching for the 1200 grit to repackage and sell with our cylinders.
